Primary movement: Deadlifts/Burpees

What is Open 22.2 Rx?

Open 22.2 drew the Open's prettiest rep scheme - a perfect pyramid from 1 to 10 and back - around its least pretty combination: 100 deadlifts at 225/155 and 100 bar-facing burpees. The ascent lures with tiny sets; the summit rounds (9-10-9) hold 28 deadlifts inside three rounds; the descent promises relief that the accumulated fatigue quietly cancels. It's the Open's cleanest hinge-endurance exam, and the burpees make sure the spine never gets a silent minute.

Tips & Strategy

Unbroken deadlifts through the pyramid is the plan - but 'unbroken' with a rebuilt brace each rep, because 100 pulls at 225/155 is where lazy setups compound into injuries. Burpees at one rhythm the entire pyramid: the step-over pace you chose in round 1 should still be alive in the final descent. The rounds of 8-9-10-9-8 are the workout; everything else is commute. If your back rounds under fatigue, break at 6+ into quick 4-and-rest - discretion here is next month's training availability.

Scaled & Beginner Versions

Scaled: 135/95 lb deadlifts and regular burpees, same pyramid.
