For Time (20 cap): 33-27-21-15-9 Thrusters (95/65 lb) and Chest-to-Bar Pull-Ups.
Primary movement: Thrusters/C2B
Open 19.5 ended the last winter Open by super-sizing Fran's DNA: 105 thrusters and 105 chest-to-bar pull-ups in descending mega-sets, starting with an opening round of 33-and-33 that alone out-reps Fran entirely. Where the 7-minute ladders test a sprint, 19.5 tests a siege: fifteen-plus minutes of the two most famous movements in CrossFit, where grip strategy and shoulder budgeting matter more than courage. A fitting monument to close the Open's first decade.
| Level (Time) | Men | Women |
|---|---|---|
| beginner | 20:00 (cap) | 20:00 (cap) |
| intermediate | 17:00 | 18:00 |
| advanced | 13:30 | 14:30 |
| elite | sub 10:30 | sub 11:30 |
The 33s are a trap the size of a round: thrusters in 12-11-10, C2B in 6s from the very first rep - anyone unbroken in round one is pre-paying with round three. Chalk on a schedule (every C2B set past the 27s), not on desperation. The 15s are the pivot point: if you arrive there under 12 minutes with living shoulders, empty everything. Under the cap beats elegant: quick singles on C2B in the final rounds keep the clock honest while big-set dreams die.
Scaled: 65/45 lb thrusters and jumping chest-to-bar pull-ups, same scheme.
