AMRAP 15 mins: 19 Wall-Ball Shots (20/14 lb), 19-cal Row.
Primary movement: WB/Row
Open 19.1 is the Open reduced to its aerobic essence: wall balls and rowing, 19 and 19, for fifteen minutes. No skill filter, no strength filter - the entire scoreboard is engine size and the discipline to keep two simple movements moving. It's beloved and hated for the same reason: there is nothing to blame afterward. Eight-plus rounds means over 150 wall balls and 150 calories; the legs simply never stop paying.
| Level (Rounds) | Men | Women |
|---|---|---|
| beginner | 5 | 4.5 |
| intermediate | 7 | 6 |
| advanced | 8.5 | 7.5 |
| elite | 10+ | 9+ |
Rounds in 15 minutes (38 reps per round).
Wall balls in 1-2 sets (19 or 10-9) with zero drama, and a rowing pace you could theoretically hold for thirty minutes - the rower is where enthusiastic athletes donate their round eight. Transitions are the entire hidden game: ball parked next to the erg, straps loose or feet unstrapped, 5 seconds each way. Negative-split ambition: hold steady through minute 10, then let the last two rounds hurt properly.
Scaled: 14/10 lb ball to a lower target, same row.
