AMRAP 20 mins: 8 Toes-to-Bar, 10 Dumbbell Hang Clean and Jerks (50/35 lb, 5 per arm), 14/12-cal Row.
Primary movement: T2B/DB C&J/Row
Open 18.1 opened 2018 with twenty minutes of pure engine bookkeeping: small T2B sets, single-dumbbell clean and jerks, and a rowing bill every round. Nothing gates anyone - which was the design's point, as the season opener for the largest Open ever - but twenty minutes of grip-row-grip arithmetic exposes conditioning gaps with total honesty. The athletes who treat the row as a metronome instead of a battleground win this one.
| Level (Rounds) | Men | Women |

Rounds in 20 minutes.
T2B unbroken while easy, 4-4 the moment rhythm wavers - grip is this workout's silent currency across all three stations. Dumbbell work smooth and legal: full lockout, five per arm, using the legs generously on every jerk. Row at your 60-minute pace, not your 500m ego: 45-55 seconds for the calories, then step off breathing usable air. Round splits of 90-105 seconds, cloned thirteen times, is a top-tier score.
Scaled: hanging knee raises, 35/20 lb dumbbell, same row.
