Open 15.1 Rx

The Workout

AMRAP 9 mins: 15 Toes-to-Bar, 10 Deadlifts (115/75 lb), 5 Snatches (115/75 lb). Immediately followed by Open 15.1a.

Primary movement: T2B/DL/Snatch

What is Open 15.1 Rx?

Open 15.1 is the front half of the Open's first two-part event: nine minutes of toes-to-bar, light deadlifts and snatches at one fixed 115/75 bar - immediately followed by 15.1a's six-minute clean and jerk max. The pairing created a wicked dilemma: every second of engine spent here is strength missing from the lift that follows. As a standalone triplet it's a grip-centric burner where the T2B govern everything.

Tips & Strategy

T2B in 8-7 or 5-5-5 from round one - it's the only station that can actually stop you. Deadlifts unbroken and unhurried; snatches in a smooth 5 or fast singles. Grip is the shared bank account of all three movements: loose hands everywhere possible, chalk once per round. If 15.1a follows, finish the ninth minute standing, not crawling - the transition to a heavy barbell is 15 seconds away.

Scaled & Beginner Versions

Scaled: hanging knee raises and 85/55 lb bar. Beginner: knee raises, light deadlifts, light hang power snatches.
