AMRAP 4 mins (extendable): 15 Thrusters (100/65 lb), 15 Chest-to-Bar Pull-Ups. Complete 90 reps (3 rounds) within the window to earn 4 more minutes, repeating indefinitely.
Primary movement: Thrusters/C2B
Open 13.5 closed 2013 with the Open's cruelest invention: a 4-minute Fran-paced sprint where finishing 3 rounds buys you 4 more minutes, forever. For most athletes it's the most intense 4 minutes of the year - a genuine sprint with a hard stop. For the elite, it became an infinite ladder: Games athletes famously extended through 16, 20, even 24 minutes of continuous thrusters and chest-to-bars. Your score is total reps whenever the music stops.
| Level (Reps) | Men | Women |
|---|---|---|
| beginner | 45 | 40 |
| intermediate | 65 | 58 |
| advanced | 90 (extension!) | 80 |
| elite | 150+ | 130+ |
Total reps; 90 within 4:00 earns the first extension.
Decide your identity before 3-2-1: sprinters (no realistic extension) go near-unbroken from second one and empty everything by 4:00. Bubble athletes pace the first 2 rounds deliberately - 8-7 thrusters, 8-7 C2B - to arrive at round 3 with 75 seconds, because making the extension with nothing left just delays the ending. Transitions of 2 seconds; in a 4-minute window, rest is measured in reps lost.
Scaled: 65/45 lb thrusters and chin-over-bar pull-ups, same extension rules.
